Jacques Pelvas, Brut Rosé, NV

4/5 $12.00

Have you been in search for an answer to the perfect easy-drinking summer wine all season long? Well this is not only a bright sparkling wine but a rosé; therefore, imparting a floral fruitiness to the mix. In the case of this Brut rosé sparkler from Provence, it is the epitome of a fun and festive wine to be enjoyed in the spring and summer months. And it’s adorably pink hue is spot on for a girly birthday or Mother’s Day brunch. Despite its simple freshness, it has some depth from being 100% Grenache grape, and actually pairs quite well with food with its lingering hints of citrus and strawberry. Due to the high acidity and minerality, it definitely goes great with grilled seafood like shrimp or fresh sardines, but could also work with flavorful chicken or crusty bread and cheese. And for only about $12, it’s quite the value!

Advertising professional by day and wine drinker by night, often overwhelmed by the sheer choices in wine stores, I have a tendency to not drink the same wine twice. My biggest tip to all Amateur winos, never swirl the glass in your hand, you just look pretentious. Swirl it on the table and you'll never worry again about that favorite sweater having a big red wine stain on it.
