Soho Wine Co., Sauv Blanc, 2011

5/5 $13.99

I tried this Sauvignon Blanc recently with a group of friends, and it was a true standout among all of us. It’s as if it takes everything we correlate with light white wines and stomps all over it. Instead this wine from Soho Wine Co. brings with it intense, interesting, and full flavors. It still tastes of those tropical citrus fruits you think of with a Sauvignon Blanc, but takes them up a notch with a fuller body and definite acidic bite. This wine’s flavor seems to develop even more as you continue to drink it, but even at the first sip you know it’s a winner. It would complement foods such as light cheeses, crackers, and seafood dishes very well. This wine seems made to impress, so when you get invited to your coworker’s Memorial Day picnic, I say bring this!

Advertising professional by day and wine drinker by night, often overwhelmed by the sheer choices in wine stores, I have a tendency to not drink the same wine twice. My biggest tip to all Amateur winos, never swirl the glass in your hand, you just look pretentious. Swirl it on the table and you'll never worry again about that favorite sweater having a big red wine stain on it.
