Toro Tinto “Gamazo”, Tempranillo

4/5 $14.00

I am an avid fan of Spanish reds, so I am often willing to try them without any prior recommendation. However, let’s be real, that can definitely cause some issues. Luckily in this case, I was thoroughly impressed with this Tempranillo, and the value of the “Gamazo” cannot be denied. With smokey vanilla and berry notes, it is definitely a nice light to medium-bodied wine that had a hint of chocolate to the finish. I think this would go very nice with takeout, pizza, or a spicy pasta, but could be overpowered if paired with a hearty stew or steak. Granted, as it seems like I repeat this quite often, it’s another one I plan to keep on my list when I just want a nice glass or two on its own.

Advertising professional by day and wine drinker by night, often overwhelmed by the sheer choices in wine stores, I have a tendency to not drink the same wine twice. My biggest tip to all Amateur winos, never swirl the glass in your hand, you just look pretentious. Swirl it on the table and you'll never worry again about that favorite sweater having a big red wine stain on it.
