Rex Goliath, Pinot Noir, 2010

3/5 $9.99

This Pinot Noir may not be one of my favorites; however, for its price-point, accessibility, and overall pleasant taste (and the obvious alcoholic content) this is quite the good buy. The flavor is rather dry with some solid fruit, but just do not expect bold intensity. As I said, it’s much more of the every (wo)man’s wine. I am pretty sure it would pair with almost anything from pizza, pasta, fish, or lamb. It kind of makes me think picnics or a dinner of roast chicken and veggies. Although, as I just drank it this past weekend without any food, it really is pretty drinkable on its own.

Advertising professional by day and wine drinker by night, often overwhelmed by the sheer choices in wine stores, I have a tendency to not drink the same wine twice. My biggest tip to all Amateur winos, never swirl the glass in your hand, you just look pretentious. Swirl it on the table and you'll never worry again about that favorite sweater having a big red wine stain on it.
